Dr Tamara Yuen is consultant psychiatrist specialising in Psychosomatic Medicine and Neuropsychiatry.

Dr Tamara’s training and experience allows expertise in the assessment and management of general psychiatric conditions as well as those that arise and have a complex relationship to physical illness. She draws on the the fields of the biological sciences, internal medicine, neurology, psychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis within her practice.

In addition to her private practice, Dr Tamara holds a public consultant position as a Consultation-Liasion Psychiatrist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In this role Dr Tamara remains engaged with public mental health care, provides consultation to a diverse range of medical and surgical specialists and delivers education and supervison to doctors and medical students.

Dr Tamara is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists with advanced training in Consultation-Liasion Psychiatry. She also formally trained and held a consultant position within the Royal Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Service where she gained experience managing a range of neuropsychiatic conditions relating to neurodegerative, neurogenetic and metabolic disease. She has specialty experience in Functional Neurological Disorders and contines to work alongside neurologists in the diagnosis and mangement of these conditons.

Dr Tamara obtained her Masters of Psychiatric Medicine from Melbourne University, and her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Notre Dame University in Sydney. Prior to medicine she completed degrees in Music and psychology.
